Bridget, your poem brings a picture of the solar-powered dog (wonderful!)to mind immediately. I love the way the structure of the poem evokes the bouncing off cushions and furniture.
Awesome! I guessed your super-powered subject was a child, until the last line. My dog is like Tabatha's cats -- a pool of sun is an open invitation to naptime.
You had me at "pool of sunshine" and "solar-powered dog." My friend's pomeranian, Bingo, is a ball of energy herself, especially when she sees me pick up the mailbox key. Dogs are adorable, aren't they? Thank you for sharing this. Made me smile. Big. =)
How delightful! I was guessing the subject too (every once and a while we'll have a cat go bonkers)... wasn't sure til that last, perfect line! :0) Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Robyn! Yes, our Smidgey goes "bonkers" on a regular basis - but more so in the cold weather when she wants to warm up. Thanks for reading my poem. =)
Sweet! My cats never have that reaction to sleeping in the sun...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tabatha! Our dog, Smidgey, is a Rat Terrier who has energy to spare. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. =)
DeleteThis one made me smile. Love solar-powered dog!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jama! She mostly makes me smile except when I'm sitting on the couch when she gets her burst of energy. LOL! =)

ReplyDeleteWe've actually been cold here in Tucson. I think she does her "rounds" on the furniture to warm up. Thanks for commenting. =)
DeleteTerrific poem, Bridget. I love the image of a solar-powered dog. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carmela! Our dog is quite the character - she the subject of many of my poems. Thanks for your comments. =)

ReplyDeleteThank YOU for stopping by and commenting. I love my dog, but she's been known to do a number on our furniture. =)
