I soul searched
and researched
to get my resolutions right.
Eat healthy!
Be wealthy!
I've tried with all my might.
January's ending,
my resolve is bending -
looks like there won't be a "new" me.
I'll keep my pudgy core
and probably stay poor -
I resolve now to just be happy.
What a wonderful new resolution!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz! Sometimes too much self improvement can lead to self destruction. Happiness is best what ever your size or bank account. = )
DeleteAw, there's something so endearing about that "pudgy core." Yes, to be happy -- the best resolution of all.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jama! Maybe the mantra for 2014 should be "happiness is a pudgey core". = )
DeleteThis is fun--"pudgy core" is my favorite phrase. Happiness certainly is the most worthwhile resolution.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liana! I whole heartily agree with my pudgey core. = )
DeleteFunny the excitement at the beginning of the month, and now-'the resolve is bending'! I like that you're settled for yourself, good to be happy always!
ReplyDeleteSo true, Linda! As life goes on one must decide to be in fix-it mode or be happy now mode. I'm opting be being happy now. I'm happy you read my blog. = )
DeleteBut wait! You can start all over again with the Chinese New Year!
ReplyDeleteI like the rhythm of your poem!
I hadn't thought of that, Mary Lee! Chinese New Year is a great do-over for a fresh start. Love it! = )
DeleteFunny reflection, resolve is bending as January is ending. Isn't that the truth!
