Resolution Reflection

I soul searched
and researched
to get my resolutions right.

Eat healthy!
Be wealthy!
I've tried with all my might.

January's ending,
my resolve is bending -
looks like there won't be a "new" me.

I'll keep my pudgy core
and probably stay poor -
I resolve now to just be happy.

    1. Thanks, Liz! Sometimes too much self improvement can lead to self destruction. Happiness is best what ever your size or bank account. = )

  2. Aw, there's something so endearing about that "pudgy core." Yes, to be happy -- the best resolution of all.

    1. Thanks, Jama! Maybe the mantra for 2014 should be "happiness is a pudgey core". = )

  3. This is fun--"pudgy core" is my favorite phrase. Happiness certainly is the most worthwhile resolution.

    1. So true, Linda! As life goes on one must decide to be in fix-it mode or be happy now mode. I'm opting be being happy now. I'm happy you read my blog. = )

  5. But wait! You can start all over again with the Chinese New Year!

I like the rhythm of your poem!
