Boot Scootin' Boogie

There was an old woman
who lived in a boot.
She slept in the heel
with her dog named Newt.

Where ever she went
Newt was by her side.
She even taught him
the Rodeo Slide!

  1. Fun! I love that she lives in a boot instead of a shoe and that her dog has the ridiculous name of Newt and that she taught him the rodeo slide which I suppose she knew because she lived in a boot.

    1. Thanks, Liz! I was inspired because it is Rodeo weekend here in Tucson - lots of boots and dogs. =)

  2. I could echo Liz's comment, Bridget, so funny. You must know western dancing. Clever wording here!

    1. Thank you, Linda! No, I don't know much about western dancing, but a dance called the Rodeo Slide seems like it would be fun. =)

    1. Thanks, Catherine! Rango makes me think of Tucson and that's why I wrote the poem for our Tucson Rodeo weekend. It all works out. =)
