  1. Love the 'air cartwheels'. These are everywhere, & I hope they are helping our energy problems! My daughter works at our Museum of Contemporary Art, & one artist at the museum a few years ago did a retrospective on the impact of wind farms, photographs, some three dimensional art and sound (repeat, repeat, repeat). It brought much to consider. Thanks Bridget, your poems always make me celebrate the many, many topics to write about.

    1. Thank you, Linda! I find wind farms fascinating, but I know they have mixed reviews on their effectiveness. =)

  2. Thanks for opening my eyes, in photo and poem, to wind farm dynamics. Your words bring alive what the static photo hides. First PF poem I've said aloud, enjoying the vocal apparatus gymnastics that were involved... whirligigs did me in...God bless you! Thanks again.

    1. Thanks, Michelle! I was a gymnast all through my childhood and into college...I know the dynamics of cartwheels even if my inner ear won't allow me to do them any more. =)

    1. Thanks, Jama! Yes, whirligig is a great word - I try to work it into my everyday conversations: "That cup of coffee caused quite a whirligig in my belly." OK, maybe not so effectively... =)

    1. Thanks, Liz! Sometimes driving down the freeway inspiration for a poem hits... which is much better than a car accident. =)

  6. This is a fascinating 5 minute watch -- lots of these have gone up in the area around my hometown in eastern Colorado (a place rich in wide open spaces and an abundance of wind). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84BeVq2Jm88

  8. The phrase "air cartwheels" caught my eye. We have some of these windmills near us, but none as large as the one in your photo.
