There are times some of my classes could have used this poem, Bridget. Terrific!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! I think this is what my girls hear when I talk, except when I say, "ice cream" - THEN they hear me. =)
DeleteSo fun! Reminds me of the Music Man. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jama! I must refresh my memory of the Music Man! =)
DeleteWhat fun and so true! My son calls it "grown-up blah blah." What a dear.
ReplyDeleteI think your son and my two daughters are on the same wavelength, Michelle! Too funny!
DeleteSo fun! I think this would be fun to read in middle school, assigning different stanzas to different table groups. It's hard to acknowledge that's what we often sound like to them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ramona! Yes, I think middle schoolers would be able to relate to this form of communication. =)
DeleteI love this! Pretty sure that my college aged sons hear a similar message! And I love the way you have fit the words together. The rhythm and sound are perfect!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carol! It is fun how the words fit together yet mean nothing. =)
DeleteThis is super fun! I totally had the impression it was grown up talk from the point of view of a waiting kid.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz! Waiting kids hear a whole new language in their impatience. =)
DeleteFunny, Bridget. This would sound funny in a rap.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Catherine! I'd love to see a famous rapper rap this, yo! =)
Deleteha ha hee hee ho ho ho--
ReplyDeleteI reeeeaaallllly love this! Seems like it took a long time for someone to pull all these together! Good job, Bridget--I like your buttons counting poem too. May I borrow it for kindergarten?
Thanks, Heidi! Glad I was able to give you a laugh. And yes! I'd be honored to have you use my button poem for your kindergarteners! Thanks for making me smile. =)
DeleteBridget,
ReplyDeleteThis just made me laugh. Having just sent the youngest teenage daughter off to college, I have many memories of "gibber jabber". I'm discovering, however, as she grows in this experience, she may have been listening more than I realized.
What fun rhyme and rhythm.
Cathy
Thanks, Cathy! I'm so glad you got a laugh from my poem. Yes, I hope my daughters hear more than the "gibber jabber" of my jaw. (actually they prove that they do once in while when I least expect it) =)
DeleteSo wonderful! Thank you for the smiles.
ReplyDeleteThank you Crystal! You've made ME smile, too. =)
DeleteFantastic, Bridget--thanks for the laugh. Someone needs to publish this one.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Buffy! Glad you found this funny. I'd love to find a home for this one, just not sure where. =)
