Good Mexican food is hard to come by in Switzerland. (IMHO)
Luckily we found a Mexican grocery store in Zurich where we can buy the ingredients (at a cost!) to satisfy our super-duper-south-of-the-border cravings.
These lovely tortillas are a firm foundation upon which my love for my husband is built!
I bought a hearty supply for his February 13th birthday. Lucky for me, he shares!
Lucky for you, it's Poetry Friday! And St. Patrick's Day!

Oh, tortilla shamrock! Very clever. Glad you found a Mexican grocery store. I totally get the Mexican food cravings. Luckily we have some good restaurants close to home. :)
ReplyDeleteWishing I could send some of your "love" for tortillas, Bridget! We are awash with them here in Denver. Thanks for the good luck tortillas, hope they bring you & your husband the luck o' the green, too!
ReplyDeleteLovely and creative shamrock!
ReplyDeleteOh, my! I love that shamrock tostada shell. My mouth is watering now, and I think I'll go make a tostada for lunch. (We had an 8-year Mexican-foodless desert while living in Bahrain.) I'm still making up for lost time now that I'm in California again.
ReplyDeleteTostadas are worth celebrating. Lucky y'all. Our local supply of Mexican grocery staples has gotten so much better over the years. I am grateful, too. Your poem really panned out!
ReplyDeleteGood luck and good love hidden in good food! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThose look delicious! Thanks for sharing the smiles. :)
ReplyDeleteJust delightful. Thanks for the smile. As always, Bridget.
ReplyDeleteA multicultural moment for you Bridget. I recall similar challenges when living in New York and trying to obtain the ingredients I needed to make a pavlova. You have persisted and triumphed. Well done. It all panned so well in the end...
ReplyDeleteBridget, leave it to you to make shamrock feast out of tortillas, valentine shapes and love. This is very creative.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Bridget your quest for fun rhyme and humor always gives me the giggles. Carry on, Irish named one!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the tostadas were even more delicious in Switzerland. You really know how to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteOur nod to St. Patrick's Day was the green of asparagus in one of our favorite casseroles: asparagus chicken! But now you've got me craving Mexican food...Erin go Salsa!
ReplyDeleteOn our once every 5 years travels overseas, we miss Mexican food dearly. I love your cultural mashup here, Bridget!
ReplyDeleteThat photo! No wonder you wrote an ode to this cooking adventure, Bridget!
ReplyDeleteWonderful tostadas Bridget, and so clever in your pan, they sure did pan out perfectly, thanks!
