Happy (belated) Poem in Your Pocket Day!
Lint Ball O'Fun has a poem for you...
✍🏻
A poem in my pocket
is trying to get out –
pushing against my seam,
it wants to shout.
“I’m here,
hear me rhyme,
free me from
this linty grime!”
I take out my poem
and share it with you.
Check your pocket,
Maybe you have one too!

Happy Poem in Your Pocket Day! |
Thank you, Heidi at my juicy little universe for hosting the Poetry Friday round-up this week!
I'm carrying poems in my pocket to give out today at the bookstore, Bridget! I love yours, will share! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tradition, Linda! I wish I could visit your bookstore and get a poem from you. :)
DeleteA poem in your pocket is so much nicer than a pinch of lint. :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Kat! And far less messy...well except for early drafts. ;)
DeleteWhat a lovely little lint ball and sweet poem Bridget, thanks for starting my day with smiles,! 😌 Happy poem in your pocket day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michelle! My pleasure. :)
DeleteHilarious! How'd you get that voice? And excellent musical choice also. Happy Poem in Your Pocket Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heidi! To get the voice I said the poem into a voice changer app on my phone. I agree, I love that song. :)
DeleteLint Ball O' Fun is super cute. I love the idea of someone checking their pocket and being surprised to find a poem there. I'd better go find a pocket to check.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tabatha! I hope you find one! :)
DeleteSo clever! Love the lint's voice. Happy Poem in Your Pocket Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jama! :)
DeleteYou always make me smile, Bridget! I love that you carry both a lint ball and a poem in your pocket. Now, if I just put a poem in my pocket, we’ll practically be twins! : )
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm happy to be lint and poem twins with you. :)
DeleteI shared this poem with Leo, 5, on Facetime. He said it was funny! So cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margaret! It makes me so happy that Leo liked my poem. :)
DeleteOh, Bridget, I want to carry this poem in my pocket. Lint Ball O'Fun is a sweet character. The poem is clever and dear.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Denise! You are welcome to carry Lint Ball's poem with you where ever you go. :)
DeleteA poem in the pocket is treasure, Bridget. Lint is only good for making mouse mattresses according to my dear wife...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alan! Yes, poetry is a treasure for sure, but it sounds like lint might also be a treasure for mice because then they have a nice soft place to sleep! win-win!
DeleteSoo creative, Bridget! Of course! Lint!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patricia! Lint - the forgotten treasure (when holding a poem up for sharing).
